Valentina Gaddi

A doctoral student in the Department of Sociology at the Université de Montréal, Valentina is intrigued by these everyday life situations where gender appears through the words and actions of individuals.  Following this interest, her thesis explores the construction of gender among Hasidic Jewish women in Montreal, adopting an ethnographic approach. She obtained a master's degree at the same department, with the thesis "The grammar of Outremont: ethnography of three controversies around the Hasidim". In general, she is interested in the place of the citizen and the believing citizen within democratic societies. She is a member of the international group IRTG-Diversity and is the coordinator of the Collective. In her spare time, Valentina also works on the Podcast Nous Aussi, where we talk about mental health while studying.
